day 16 - a song you would sing at karaoke

"I Feel the Earth Move" - Carole King

I love this song!  It's in my range, it's upbeat, enough people know it that they're glad when it starts playing at the bar...it's a great choice.  When I used to karaoke every week, this was a staple people actually asked for.

day 15 - a song that describes you

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" - U2

There are a lot of songs that describe the different aspects of my life.  It depends on how I'm feeling or what project I'm working on...but the main theme seems to be that I'm still on my way to finding exactly where I belong.

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love

"Danger Zone" - Kenny Loggins

Yeah, I don't know why.  It's just kind of awesome.  The man knew what he was doing when he scored three different hits on three different movie soundtracks.  Footloose, Caddyshack, Top Gun...80's movie magic.  Plus, check out the Miami Vice scruff!

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure

"Where is the Love?" - Black Eyed Peas

Do I know all these words too?  Yes I do.  Did I used to blast this in my station wagon back in college?  You bet your ass I did, on many a Handy Andy run.  It's a pacifist anthem, even if it is The Black Eyed Peas.  And you can totally dance to it!

day 12 - a song from a band you hate

"He Touched Me" - The Gaither Vocal Band

I grew up hearing this being butchered in my church.  To this day, I hate minor 7th chords and male harmony vocals.  AND SLOW SONGS IN 3/4 TIME.  I...I can't write any more about this one...let's just move on...

day 11 - a song from your favorite band

"Magpie to the Morning" - Neko Case

She whispers, she wails, she blows me away. Her lyrics often don't make sense because she writes about dreams she's had, but there are enough lucid moments to make you think.

"Come on sorrow, take your own advice: 'Hide under the bed. Turn out the light.'"
