Robert Frost

I love this guy!   I put him on the shelf after beating his work to death in high school.  I've recently rediscovered him which is really exciting.  Here are a few of my favorite bits:

"A definite purpose, like blinders on a horse, inevitably narrows its possessor's point of view."

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."

"Poetry is a way of taking life by the throat."

"Depression occurs when one looks back with no pride, and looks forward with no hope."

"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
