Fruit Leather

Today I learned about and tried "fruit leather". It's similar to dehydrated fruit, such as raisins, prunes, craisins, dried apricots, etc. The difference is that it's processed to be in the shape of a Fruit Roll-up.

I tried Stretch Island Fruit Co.'s Autumn Apple flavor. It had a very concentrated taste, kind of like reconstituted apple juice. The texture was similar to real leather (tough and chewy). After eating it, I felt surprisingly energized! But as I've stated before, I hate apple juice, so I won't try this flavor again. Perhaps another kind. Strawberry Pomegranate Sunshine sounds interesting.

  1. Since my daughter has food allergies... one of the snacks she can eat are Fruit Leathers... lots of different companies make them...
