Today Jenn and I did one of my favorite things. We scavenged for treasures in Goodwill. I love exploring the shelves of books and dishes, the racks of shoes and jackets, the displays of cassette tapes and costume jewelry. There's always something you've never heard of or something you never thought you'd see again. I like wondering who owned these throwaway items and how they used them. Occasionally I find old photos tucked into record album covers or penciled notes in the margins of yellowing textbooks. Those are always the greatest finds because they give you a better picture of the previous owners.
We came away with some great stuff today. I found a mug with the old Denny's logo on it, a decent copy of Coldplay's "Parachutes" CD, and a book called "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories". Jenn discovered a few dishes to replace some Corningware that got broken in her recent move. However, the most fun was seeing ridiculous 80s prom dresses and ugly mustard colored lamps! I can spend hours thrifting. :)
Best find recently at a thrift was a giant pyrex bowl for like $1... woot!
