Today I attended the wedding of one of my best friend's sister's. It was big and elaborate, but very homey for me. There was Catholic mass, which reminds me of my childhood. My grandparents used to take me to mass every week when I stayed with them during the summer. I was pleased that, because of this, I knew what to say during the wedding service. :)
Also I'm very close to the parents of the bride, her sister, and brother-in-law. I spent the weekend helping however I could, which made me happy. I hate feeling useless and it was great to be able to help remember details and tie up loose ends.
I also got the opportunity to watch and interact with new people. I chatted with the dates of some of the ushers, admired the baby of my dinner companions, and had a good conversation with a fellow social worker. All in all, it was a good weekend and I really am glad I went.
Best of luck to Steph & Pete! You guys are wonderful and I wish you all the best always.
